Our Story: A Dream Rooted in the Land
We came to Costa Rica with a vision. A dream of finding a place where the jungle meets the ocean, where access meets privacy, and where spirit could be anchored into the soil. We searched for land that was close enough to the sea — less than 20 minutes — yet high enough for a breeze to dance through the trees. A place that already held the essentials: clean water, reliable electricity, and the potential for strong internet, without having to fight the elements just to begin.
And then we found this land.
It felt right from the moment we arrived: surrounded by green, yet tucked near the village of Platanillo with all the essentials — market, organic café, pharmacy, and bus stop — just a short walk away. We knew we’d found a place that could hold people in peace and presence, a sanctuary. We didn’t even realize at first that it held two streams, not just one. Or that, just across the river, another beautiful natural platform lay waiting to be discovered. The land slowly began to reveal its gifts.
What followed was a labor of love — not rushed, but intuitive and steady. We built a simple house to live in while working the land. We cut down about 30 dead (never live ones), and from that, we created everything we could: posts for the yoga shala, the outdoor kitchen, and most of the furniture you see on the land. It carries the energy of the forest and the intention of sustainability.
We built the cabin, the glamping spaces, and then carved a path down the hillside. We even crafted a slide to carry materials down to the yoga shala — a true gem surrounded by jungle and hugged by streams on both sides. We laid pathways, planted and terraced a fruit forest with over 40 trees, and shaped the land into something that felt like a sanctuary.
And it became exactly that.
Every group who came felt it. Every retreat was filled with a deep sense of peace, grounding, and renewal. People called it paradise. Some cried when they left. We poured everything into making it not just a business — but a sacred space, alive with heart, care, and presence.
But slowly, life began whispering something new. Change knocking on the door. A quiet knowing that the land is ready for its next steward. One who will carry this dream forward, add their own vision, and continue the work with the same reverence and love.
